"Just The Basics" Mini Camps
Summer is absolutely a time for play and relaxation.
Kids need to recharge after a long year!
However, they should also do a little math
so they don’t lose what they worked so hard to gain over the year.
Studies show that kids lose an average of three months’ work over the summer if they do not review.
These mini camps are a perfect way to ensure that
your child is as ready as possible for the next school year.
Focus is on all four basics (mult/div/add/sub) as well as fractions, decimals and some geometry.
Games and group challenges will make for a fun week!
July Camp:
July 13th to 17th (5 days) – 10:00-11:00 each day
August Camp:
August 10th to 14th (5 days) – 1:00 to 2:00 each day
Suitable for kids currently in grades 3 to 6.
If there is enough demand, 2 sessions (3/4 and 5/6) will be offered each week.
Camp numbers will also be kept small to accommodate a large range of ages and abilities.
Kids will also receive a review package to be done before school starts up again.
Cost: $99 for 5 days.
Send us an email for more information or to register.
Word Problem Workshop!
This was such a success the last two years that we had to bring it back.
The program is more intensive than our general club sessions and is designed for
kids currently in Grades 2 to 7.
Grades 2 to 4 will do a lighter mix of problems, puzzles and games,
while still learning the basics of how to tackle word problems.
Grades 5 to 7 will focus more on complex problems,
but will still have some fun with some lighter activities.
It will be offered twice over the summer:
July 22nd to 24th (3 days)
Grades 2-4: 10:00am to 12:00pm each day
Grades 5-7: 1:00pm to 3:00pm each day
August 19th to 21st (3 days)
Grades 5-7: 10:00am to 12:00pm each day
Grades 2-4: 1:00pm to 3:00 pm each day
The first two days will be individual and group challenges, mixed with discussions on strategy,
and the third day will be a review and a treasure hunt!
Each member receives a package with workshop materials and a certificate upon completion.
This could be the most important math your kid does all year!
And it is only 1/3rd of 1% of their total summer vacation!
If they want to know how I got that number, they should come to the workshop!
Cost is $129 for the three days.
Send us an email for more information or to register.
Times Table “Bootcamp"
Learning the times tables can be a tough challenge for many kids.
So why not get a jump on them before the new school year!
We offer a program that combines multiplication understanding, strategies and practice
in a fun setting for an hour a day over the course of a week.
At the end of the week, your child will be much more comfortable using their times table facts
to not just multiply, but divide and even work with fractions.
Times tables are broken down into:
Perfect Squares (6x6, 7x7, etc.), the “Tricky Ten” (The ten toughest facts)
and strategies for 5s, 9s and 11s.
As a bonus, they will even learn the meaning of life! (it’s 6 x 7)
For kids entering Grades 4, 5, and 6.
Dates:
July 27th to 31st (5 days) 3:00pm – 4:00pm each day
August 31st to September 4th (5 days) 10:00am-11:00am each day
Cost is only $99 for the five days
Please email for more information or to register.
